In Bruges
Last weekend we went to Bruges with some visitors, and it was as quaint and beautiful as I remembered, despite the Belgian rain and a hopeless Polish football match, watched in an Irish pub with excellent cider.
As we're in the countdown to Easter, all the chocolate shops were full of eggs and chicks and bunnies. We came to one and took pictures of this:
and this:
and then, then we spotted this:
How, erm, Eastery.
Anyway, then we came home and watch 'In Bruges' with lots of 'we went there!' and 'remember that bit?' in between the hilarious dialogue. Fun times.

lol...there's a whole Eddie Izzard bit in "Dress to Kill" about chocolate, Easter and how it was a fertility festival that the Catholic Church (Christians) stole from the Pagans. In explaining how eggs and bunnies got into the whole Easter thing he goes something like:
"Yeah, so bunnies are for shagging, eggs are for fertility"
But...the Belgians in the chocolate industry chose to take Easter at face value and just go with the willies and boobies (one for shagging, the other for...post-fertility stuff).
Ha ha ha. Gotta love Eddie. Spot on.
I like the little chocolate bottles of Duval in the background. Very Easter-y.
Ah yes, well. Can't take beer away from the Belgians.
Cóż to za wielka przerwa w "niepisaniu"?
